About Us

The Pathology Student Interest Group (PathSIG) aims to: 1. Foster interest in pathology among medical and pre-medical students by showcasing the specialty’s integral role in patient care and diagnosis. 2. Provide interactive educational sessions (e.g., histology reviews, slide sessions, pathology case discussions, guest speakers) to enhance understanding of pathophysiological concepts. 3. Create networking and shadowing opportunities with local and national pathologists, including virtual or in-person lab tours and conference participation. 4. Promote awareness of diverse career paths within pathology (e.g., forensic pathology, academic medicine, molecular/genomic pathology). 5. Encourage interdepartmental collaboration with other student organizations and faculty to highlight pathology’s relevance across medical disciplines.
